Export and Import

You are able to export your saved SearchKit searches to share them with others. You are also able to import searches that have been shared with you. It requires some comfort with moving code around, but none in creating it. It can all be accomplished using the graphical interface.

Description

Export

The export functionality is only available after you have saved your SearchKit query.

Visit the main SearchKit page and choose “Export” from the additional actions menu (☰) beside your saved search.

Export example

You will be presented with a window that displays the coded version of your search and provides a convenient button for copying the search to your clipboard. If you have created any associated displays, groups or forms, they can be included in the export as well.

Coded version

Note: If you want to include the saved search in a custom extension, use the “API Explorer Export” instead. You will find the link at the top of the export window.

Once you have copied the SearchKit query to your clipboard, you can save it in a file for future reference, import it into another site, or send it to someone else for them to use and modify on their system.

Import

To import a SearchKit saved search, go to the default SearchKit page and click on the “Import” link just under the “New Search” button in the top right corner.

Import link

You’ll then get a window with an empty box for you to paste your exported search into. Paste, submit and you’ll be returned to the main screen where you can see your newly imported search.
